Bordetella Selective Supplement
Rehydrate the content of 1 vial aseptically with 2 ml of sterile distilled water. Mix well and aseptically add it to 500 ml of
sterile, molten, cooled (45-50°C) B TM 044 - BORDET GENGOU AGAR BASE / TM 1147 - BORDET GENGOU AGAR BASE W/
1.6% AGAR or 1000 ml of sterile, molten TM 063 - CHARCOAL AGAR BASE W/ NIACIN together with 10% v/v defibrited
horse blood. Mix well and pour into sterile petri plates. The vial content may be added to 500 ml of sterile half strength
TM 062 - CHARCOAL AGAR BASE with 10% v/v defibrited horse blood for use as a transport medium for Bordetella
pertussis.
